If your gaming pleasure demands an opulent experience and an elegant, extravagant setting then Wynn Las Vegas is the place for you.
This 2700 room/suites hotel was built in 2006 at a cost of USD $2.7 billion and barely 5 years later Steve Wynn renovated to the tune of USD $99 million. No surprise it has been the recipient of so many awards and made Forbes Award history by earning five star ratings in every category for two consecutive years.
With five restaurants on the property that have garnered the AAA Four Diamond status, a wide variety of bars and lounges, Wynn has definitely earned its highflying reputation. Add to that two Spas and four heated pools, private cabanas where you can gamble and watch sporting events on big screen TVs, or go for one of the secluded adult-only European pools that allow for topless sunbathing. Of course there is also a Wynn signature staple: the luxury retail high-end shopping arcade conveniently situated for you to spoil yourself with your winnings.
And for those times you have just got to tear yourself away from the inside opulence to enjoy the great outdoors, don’t forget the18 hole Wynn Golf & Country Club. The course was designed by award winning course architect Tom Fazio and Steve Wynn himself and features sublime landscaping and the opportunity to gaze at the $130 million man-made mountain with a 7-story waterfall, all expertly engineered to make you feel as though you are miles away from the dusty hustle and bustle of the Vegas strip.
The Casino action is, as expected, very sophisticated and decidedly pricey. Blackjack minimums start at $15.00 with Craps 3x,4x,5x from $10.00. There is a single zero Roulette Wheel, but that’s open in the high-limit room. And if your taste runs to Baccarat… those limits run from $100 to $15,000.
The beautifully styled Poker Room has 26 tables with games to suit all levels of play. Limits here range from $4/$8 to $150/$300, and higher limit games are of course available. But the no-max buy-in can be intimidating for players with limited bankrolls.

The room is a little snug for all the tables, but the staff and service is of such high level that you wont mind the squeeze. And although the Wynn has a video queuing system to let you know where you are on the wait list, make a note of this number: (702)-770-7654 it’s the wait list number for locals and visitors because that list fills up very quickly.
Race and Sports Book betting is on offer via satellite broadcasts from around the world, and all you need to do is to open a wagering account for this area and everything is high tech and fully automated.
But all is not lost for the regular player who wants the feel and energy of this high-end establishment…. Wynn Las Vegas was the scene, in August 2016, of one of the biggest jackpot payouts on the Strip… a woman from Hawaii won a staggering $10.7 million payout on a $3 wager on a penny slot machine, their Megabucks Wynn Wheel custom built game.
If you are planning a stay at the Wynn, the Red Card is your room key and you can also use it to collect points when you play, eat and use any of the hotel/casino services. If you’re not a hotel guest you can check in at the Red Card desk, or take a seat at one of the tables, provide your drivers license or passport and you’ll be presented with your Wynn Red Card. Like many of the Las Vegas programs this is all about how much you spend, but the information on this one seems to be rather opaque with regard to what you earn. The most value for smaller and less frequent players seems to come from marketing offers tempting return visitors. Should you get to enjoy one of those beautifully appointed rooms or suites don’t forget to sign up for the Wynn Insider program and get a 15% discount on any available room.
But if you’re watching your gambling pennies and planning on driving in Vegas, be sure to self park your car when you’re at the Wynn. At this time it’s still free to do so, but as of December 2016, Wynn started charging for valet parking ($18 for 24 hour).
