Not to be confused with its new sister-property the Wynn Palace Cotai, which opened in August 2016, Wynn Macau Napine has all the grandeur synonymous with the Wynn brand world-wide and it’s located right in the heart of Macau – the fabled “Monte Carlo of the Orient”.

Modeled on Steve Wynn’s opulent curved tower in Las Vegas, the 20-story hotel and casino opened in 2006, with an expansion of the gaming space completed in December 2007, earning the coveted Mobil Five-Star Award. In 2015 it became the only hotel worldwide to garner 7 Forbes Five-Star designations.

With eight restaurants, three bars, including a lavish cocktail bar and an Italian eatery, the hotel has all the expected high-end luxury hallmarks and services that guests of this 600 room/suites expect. As in Las Vegas, there is an Encore Tower, a boutique hotel with another 400+ rooms/suites fully integrated into the Wynn Macau property.

Casino guests are greeted with the same opulence and splendour shown to James Bond as featured in the 2012 movie “Skyfall”.  With 500 table games and 375 slots, 24 hour gambling action for the average stakes gamester takes place on one floor.  So be sure to check out a floor map as tables are nestled into many small gaming salons cordoned off by pillars and architectural separators. Getting around can be confusing as for the most part table games are not grouped into zones but scattered throughout the casino floor.  It certainly keeps the noise level down to a more restrained level, but the floor still buzzes with the excitement and tension of high-stakes games and chirping slot machines delivering their jackpots.

The atmosphere and ambience with its low ceilings and dimmed lights is well suited to those looking for an intimate and decidedly ‘Bond-like” experience, the minimum bet being 500 HKD. For those whose tastes and budgets go even higher, there are VIP salons as well as the Sky Casino. This private playground is situated at the top of the Encore Tower and is off-limits to anyone who rolls under five million HKD per month.

Macau is a Baccarat town and there is no shortage of tables at the Wynn, including the popular EZ Baccarat. You will also find the usual Roulette, Blackjack, Craps and Pai Gow as well as a local favourite, Sic Bo (Precious Dice). Plus 375 Slots and 8 Video Poker machines.

Wynn brought its Las Vegas style Poker Pit to Macau and installed premium seating and furnishings designed to pamper gamesters with comfort and style.  With eleven Poker tables, including 3 VIP tables, a big draw is their No Limit Texas Hold’em Poker, there is also Omaha Hold’em and Caribbean Stud.

Unfortunately, promotions at times are poorly advertised with no clear statement on the benefits or how to attain them.  Slots players seem to have their own system where they can accumulate points long term and redeem them for prizes displayed near the Welcome Desks.

Despite the economic turndown for Macau in 2016, it is still considered a premium gambling destination with seven times the annual gaming revenue of Las Vegas.
